The Broadmoor psychiatric hospital in the UK has decided to have Wiis installed for their inmates/patients enjoyment.
According to ITProPortal:
Even though patients already had access to Xbox and PlayStation consoles, the popularity of Nintendo Wii units could be assessed from the fact that the hospital managers are placing orders for extra remote controls at £25 per unit, the report added.
The report also states that the Wiis themselves are costing taxpayers over there £180 per unit.
I suppose this suppose to make m feel a Glenn Beck-esc type outrage that taxpayer money being wasted like this. But, living in the US, I've seen our tax money wasted on sillier things. I'm sure those living in England could say similar things.
