Hudson Puts WiiWare Demo Online

Unlike the XBox 360 and Playstation 3, the Wii still does not have free downloadable demos for all their online titles. This erases the try before you buy method that all nonNintendo users have grown accustomed to.

So if you are a publisher with a game for WiiWare that you want people to try out and Nintendo refuses to put up a demo for it, what do you do? Well, Hudson may have found a method.

Anyone who visits the company's Japanese website can try a demo of their upcoming Wiiware offering Lost In Shadow (known in Japan as Tower of Shadow) inside their browser via the miracle of Adobe Flash.

Nintendo had offered demos of a small handful of WiiWare titles late last year but have already taken them down is Europe and claim they will taker it down soon in other regions as well.

Its great seeing Hudson taking initiative. I have not bothered buying many WiiWare titles for this reason. If I have no idea what the game is going to be like, I have no plans on buying it. 

Muscle March Makes US Debut

The game that almost certainly will traumatize a generation has made it to US shores.

Muscle March, perhaps the most controversial thing to come out of Japan since its attack on Pearl Harbor, made its debut on WiiWare today.

The game is about a group of bodybuilders, and a bear for some reason, who get their protein shake stolen. Its up to you to chase after the thief by changing positions to fit through holes in walls while you chase them. Availablefor a mere 500 Wiipoints ($5.00).

Phoenix Wright Coming To WiiWare

The popular point and click adventure game, Phoenix Wright, is due to make it's first appearance via WiiWare on Monday.

The game, almost a direct port of the original DS title, finds you as a lawyer trying to solve cases by investigating crime scenes, interviewing witnesses and then presenting evidence at trials.

The title is expected to sell for 1000 wiipoints (i.e. $10) with the follow games to be introduced it the download service a little later on.

I played the first game in this series for the DS and found it to be pretty enjoyable. I won't bother with this first release, since from at I understand it's almost exactly the same as the DS version, just with some waggle controls thrown in. I will however most likely download the sequels as I never got a chance to check those out on the handheld.

I wonder if they'll ever announce a special sequel/tie-in called: Phoenix Wright: Special Victims Unit.
